What exactly is TYPELOG Worktimer?
TYPELOG Worktimer is a local browser-based work and project time tracker delivered as an HTML application. It is not operated as a traditional cloud service. The HTML file is opened in the browser and the work data is stored locally.
What belongs in a complete working-time record?
Usually at least the date, start, end and breaks are documented. For project-based work, the project, activity or notes are also useful so that times can later be clearly assigned and evaluated.
How can I avoid reconstructing working times from memory later?
The most reliable approach is to record time while you are working. A timer with start, pause and stop reduces later estimates and makes breaks and project changes immediately traceable.
Why is a timer better than entering time later in MS Excel or comparable software?
Spreadsheet programs remain excellent tools for analysis and further processing. The problem often occurs during recording: start time, end time, breaks and project have to be reconstructed later. TYPELOG Worktimer records these times while you work. Afterwards, the data can be exported again as XLSX if required.

Does TYPELOG Worktimer work completely offline?
No internet connection is required for normal time tracking. This is especially practical at workplaces or job sites where no stable connection is available or where work data is deliberately not intended to be stored in a cloud.
Where is my data stored?
The work data and settings are stored locally in the storage of the browser you use. They are not automatically transferred to TYPELOG Worktimer or any other server.
What are the advantages of local time tracking compared with a cloud solution?
Local time tracking can work without a user account, server connection or ongoing subscription. The data stays on your own device. In return, there is generally no automatic synchronization between multiple devices.
Do I need a user account or subscription?
No. No user account is required for operation. TYPELOG Worktimer is offered as a single-user licence with a one-time purchase and does not require an ongoing subscription.
Can I use TYPELOG Worktimer on Windows and Android?
TYPELOG Worktimer is optimized for Windows and Android. Because it is an HTML application, the file can generally also be opened on other devices with a suitable browser. However, the behavior of local HTML files can differ depending on the operating system and browser.
Can I run Worktimer on other operating systems too?
In principle, yes. TYPELOG Worktimer is a browser-based HTML application and can work on other operating systems as long as a suitable browser reliably supports local HTML files. It is optimized and tested especially for Windows and Android.
Do the PC and smartphone synchronize automatically?
No. This kind of automatic cloud synchronization is deliberately not included. The current data state can be transferred to another device via JSON backup and restored there.
What happens if I continue working separately on two devices?
The two data sets are not merged automatically. Therefore, before switching devices, the current state should be backed up and restored on the target device.
What happens to an active session when I close the browser?
An active session should always be ended with Pause or Stop before finishing work. If the browser is reopened on the same calendar day, an active session may continue with the time elapsed since the stored start time. That is why deliberately ending the session is important.
What happens when the calendar day changes?
If Worktimer is opened on a new calendar day, the previous active session is ended at the last stored state. A new calendar day starts at 00:00:00.
Does TYPELOG Worktimer provide legal advice on working-time recording?
No. Worktimer is a tool for recording and documenting working time. The legal or company-specific requirements that apply to a particular user depend on the country, employment model and use case and should be checked separately where necessary.
